Frequently Asked Question

How do I change my voicemail greeting?
Last Updated 2 years ago

This describes how to change the voicemail greeting that plays to someone if they call a particular extension, and do not get an answer. This method does not change (if applicable) your auto attendant, or general voicemail box.

  1. From the phone you wish to change the greeting on, dial *97.
  2. Enter your password, followed by #.
  3. Press 5
  4. Press 1
  5. You will be asked to enter a greeting between 1 and 9. Read below, or just press 1.
  6. You will be told to record your greeting at the beep.
  7. Say your greeting at the beep.
  8. To end the recording, press any key or stop talking.
  9. When you are finished, press 1 to replay, press 2 to save, press 3 to retry, or end the call to give up.
About step 5: Your phone can store 9 greetings, each assigned a different number. Normally, you can just always press 1, as you won't need multiple greetings. But, if you want to have a temporary greeting, you may want to press 2 or 3, to not overwrite your current greeting (which is probably 1).
