How to Bulk Import Contacts in the Ringotel App

Having a pre-populated Contacts tab in the Ringotel app can significantly streamline your communication process, making it easier to call your audience. This guide will walk you through the steps for bulk importing contacts using a CSV file.

Step 1: To begin, download this CSV template. provided below. This template will help ensure that your contact data is formatted correctly for import.

Step 2: Open the CSV template and fill in your contact details. Ensure each contact is entered accurately to avoid any issues during the import process. The fields typically required include:
  1. The first line of the file should contain column headings
  2. Values must be separated by either a semicolon, comma or tab
  3. The following headings are allowed:
    1. name - (required) contact's name. Alternatively, firstname and lastname fields are allowed.
    2. mobile - mobile number(s). To import multiple mobile numbers, split values into multiple columns with the same header name.
    3. phone - phone number(s). To import multiple phone numbers, split values into multiple columns with the same header name.
    4. fax - fax number(s). To import multiple fax numbers, split values into multiple columns with the same header name.
    5. organization - organization name associated with the contact
    6. position - contact's current position
    7. department - department name
    8. email - contact's email address
    9. about - any arbitrary info
Step 3: Once your CSV file is filled out, you need to create a help request ticket with our support team. Please include the following details in your request:
Subject: Bulk Import Contacts Request
Description: Provide a brief description of your request and attach the completed CSV file.
To create a ticket, visit our Support Portal or send an email to support@voipcom.network.
Step 4: Our team will process your bulk import request promptly. We will review the CSV file to ensure all data is correctly formatted and then import the contacts into your RingoTel app.
Step 5: Once the import is complete, we will notify you via email. You can then check the Contacts tab in your RingoTel app to ensure all contacts have been successfully imported.

  2. Ensure that there are no duplicates in your CSV file to maintain data integrity.
